The Sermons and Lucas Family Reunion honor the memories of the late Henry and Eliza Hall Sermons, and the late Robert and Eliza Ward Lucas.

Beginning in the late 1800’s, according to The National Archives, Henry Sermons, born in 1844, was located with his wife Eliza Hall, and their 12 children in Mineola, GA. This union produced eight sons:
James, Henry Jr., Thomas, Simmie, Johnnie, Jenious, Joshua, and Hubbard and four daughters: Idella, Lola, Hattie, and Willie.

According to the same 1800 records of The National Archives, Robert Lucas, born in 1838, was also located with his wife Eliza Ward and their 12 children in Mineola, GA. This union produced four sons:
Robert, Isaiah, Henry, and Frank, and eight daughters: Henrietta, Ada, Lucy, Georgia, Francis, Rebecca, Indiana, and Eliza.

The Sermons and Lucas families were intertwined by marriages between offsprings from both lineages, thus establishing a web of enduring love, strength, and unity. The annual and bi-annual
reunion is a gathering of descendants to honor and celebrate the family unit, creating what is known today as The Sermons and Lucas Family Reunion.
